Line Optical Illusion

 Today I made an optical illusion. This was hard because I didn't know which illusion to draw. This was fun because I like making optical illusions, especially when they are a challenge. In the video below I will show you how to make it. I hope you can make you own.

 

My origami box

 Today I made an origami box with a lid. This was a big challenge because of the shapes and folds I used to make this. This was fun because I like origami. Hope you try to make one on on your own.

Geometric art

 Today I did some geometric art in google drawing. This was fun because I liked the challenge of the butterfly.  The butterfly was a challenge because I only used triangles. Hope you like my geometry art.

 

When I am 17

 Today for the Summer Learning Journey I made a template of what I will do when I turn 17-85. This was fun because I got to share what I want to be when I grow up. What would you want to be or are?

Noise as Music Activity

 Today I had to make music with no instruments. I played Mary had a little lamb, with water glasses. This was a challenge because I couldn't get the right keys for ages, it took 20 minutes to get this right.

My mandala art

This is my mandala art that I made for the Summer Learning Journey. I made it using the explore tool. The explore tool lets you get noncopyrighted pictures for stuff like art. This was a challenge for my finger because it involved a lot of clicking.

Poetry Slam

 Today I started the Summer Learning Journey SLJ for short. For the first activity I had to do a poetry slam. I had to think about some of the things I like about summer. I also had to prepare for the next poetry activity by learning what synonyms, verbs and adverbs are and that was a tough run.

summer taste

Today I complete Summer Taste. My favourite summer foods are cookie ice cream sandwiches, strawberries and watermelon. What are some of your favourite foods. I really enjoyed this because I was able to use Google Drawing and I am still learning how to use it. 

Hour of Code 2020

 Today I completed the Minecraft Hour of Code 2020. I found the coding bits easy because I know how to code and I was strategic in the way that I coded. One thing I found challenging was trying to find the last part. It was difficult because I had to spend a long time really searching for it before I could complete the activity. Problem solving skills are important skills for life because as your grow up if you are unable to problem solve you will not be able to get a good job. For example, when I grow up I might want to be a lawyer or a teacher and those both require good problem solving skills. 

Ice Cream

 I have been working on the te reo Maori ice cream kick start. This was fun because I got to learn some new words in Maori. I really enjoyed this activity because I really like ice cream. My favourite flavour is cookies and cream and I learnt that this is he pihikete me te kirīmi. What is your favourite kind of ice cream?

SLJ: Water Xylophone

Today, I made a water xylophone using glasses. I learnt how to do this from a video that Nanogirl shared on her website. I also followed the instructions that she shared with us. I decided to play a Christmas song because Christmas is just a few days away. This was a lot of fun and a little bit tricky. What song do you think you will be able to play?

 For this task, I had to decide what was different between the 4 pictures. This task was a little hard because it was so long. I created my own 4 picture challenge for the Step it Up activity. Do you think you can decide what is different? Answer in my comments.

SLJ W1D4 Te Reo Maori

 Today for my Summer Learning Journey task I worked on an assignment that was about te reo Maori. I had to write "What are you doing today?" in Maori and then answer the question. My finger hurt from dragging all the magnets to make the sentences, but it was an easy task. Hope you enjoy!

I decided to do the Step it Up activity too. So my mom and I made a Screencastify video to show how to ask "What are you doing today?" and how to answer "I am going to swim." in te reo Maori. This was my first time using Screencastify and it was very easy to use. I even learnt how to trim the beginning and ending of my movie off. It was so easy to do because it is so much like iMovie that I use in class. 

Insect art

 This is my insect art that I made. I made a spider with pebbles and mulch. Hope you like my spider. It has 4 mulch legs. It also has a pebble body. I was going to use a ball with a face but it kept rolling away. it is called the nature spider it looks like that because it is from the nature so it needs to camouflage.
